Concert ~ Saturday, 9 June 2018

The din of noise above the music sounds
Hover indifferent to the voice on stage
Enter The Empty Bottle to listen

Dangerously close to total strangers
Indeed anyone could be a killer
No telltale look gives anyone away

Of course you got to be a gentleman
For someone you don't know knows the owner

Nothing major I just work for the man
Older than me his business acumen
Instills in us a sense of wonder how
Simple it appears to build an empire
Even Caesar only has a salad

Arguably named after him you see
Broken nose statues mean nothing but years
Of wear and tear alabaster marble
Veins gilt to repair cracks in the surface
Efforts to know the man rebuffed by wool

Three years means little to the man in charge
His businesses over twenty-five years
Established his status in Chicago

Many characters come and go who cares
Understandably so about some guy
So what if he loves to listen to noise
Indifference grows inside the heart of god
Caused by a population explosion

Simple minded fools like myself who work
Over years for people who don't notice
Understandably one worker in drone
Negligible from another worker
Diminished value rises to zero
Shit Liz Phair just got on stage gotta go
