When you feel you have nothing to live for,
however wrong it sounds, you may be right
even if you're way in over your head
no one notices until you're drowning.
You see, as the case may be, everyone's
ordinarily too busy to look
under their nose to find you in distress.
Forget you wanted to become someone
even after you got your mind back straight
enter Plan Z, the last available
left for you to accept for no one cares.
You must realize society can't
observe you and watch after its success
until the bubble bursts and we're all down.
Hungry for experience as a kid
and with no money, Hendrix lied to us
vacant stares in the insane asylum
ever feel you've landed in the wrong place?
Nervous to find reality again
over and over you fail to succeed
they tell you that's life, it's part of your job
hanging from every tree, empty cocoons
if only you knew how easy it was
no longer being a caterpillar
growing so large as to touch the night sky.
Together we could have been two brothers
only you wanted your freedom to dream.
Life goes on even after we pass on
if you find love before you die, you win
vote for whomever, the best candidate
even though that will never be you, no?
Forgotten by classmates, way too busy,
of course, to care, they all have jobs or school
rejected by the worst, the mirrors cry.
